Ms. Leanne Price
About Me: For nearly all of my life I have lived in the Acme/Linden area. I grew up on a farm just outside of Acme and attended school both at Acme and Dr. Elliott. It was not until I graduated high school that I moved to Red Deer to attend college. At Red Deer College, I began working towards my teaching degree and after two years I was accepted into the collaborative program; I was able to earn my University of Alberta degree while remaining on the Red Deer College Campus. This allowed me to pursue my education at a close knit institution as well as continue my journey of playing postsecondary sports as a member of the Red Deer College Queens Volleyball team. After graduation, I substitute taught for both the Golden Hills School Division and the Red Deer Public School Division and later became a teacher at “Reading College,” a summer school reading program for seven and eight year old students. In 2013 I moved back to this community and have been teaching in the Dr. Elliott elementary ever since!
Teaching: I am thrilled to be back teaching at Dr. Elliott for my ninth year! My classroom is a safe, caring and inclusive environment where students are able to express their creativity and originality. Students will learn through engaging lessons, and hands-on activities. I will employ both traditional and modern teaching strategies in my classroom throughout the year in order to provide your child with a valuable community-based learning experience.
Interests: Sports (mainly volleyball and basketball), travelling, cooking and baking, reading, coaching, community wellness, children’s literacy
